As of June 30, 2022, Google Ads will no longer allow expanded text ads to be created.
Additionally, any existing expanded text ads will no longer be allowed to be edited.
Google Ads support went on to say: “existing expanded text ads will continue to serve alongside search ads, and you’’ still see reports on their performance going forward. Additionally, you’ll be able to pause and resume your expanded text ads or remove them if needed.”
To prepare for these changes, Google is recommending each ad group has at least one responsive search ad. Here’s a link that explains more about responsive search ads:
